Joining a club
There are over 1000 running clubs in the UK and finding a local one
is easy with our clubs database in CLUBS.
For an annual membership fee usually around £10 - £25,
a club can provide numerous services to help you in your running.
Benefits
- You will gain access to all club events, as well as to league fixtures
and regional and national competitions, competing as an individual
as well as part of a team.
- When taking part in events, you will wear the club kit - giving a
strong sense of identity with the club (as well as cheers from club
supporters).
- Entry fees to all races around the country will be less for a member of a UK Athletics affiliated club.
- A fixture list will be provided and frequently it will be possible
for you to travel to and from events with other club members.
You can join in on training nights and find running partners of a
similar standard.
- Most clubs will run a social programme that will allow you to meet
other members on a regular basis in a more relaxed atmosphere.
- Long-standing members are likely to be happy to give the benefit of
their experience and useful local knowledge.
- Members are often entitled to a discount from local sports shops.
Join and enjoy
Running need not be a solitary pursuit. Through meeting fellow runners
and participating in events, joining a club can make it even more
enjoyable and a team game.
